What you get in a TikTok transcript
- The words, in order. Everything said in the video, as plain text you can copy, search and quote.
- Real timestamps. Each line has its own start and end time, taken from the speech. We checked all 1,658 TikTok transcripts in our cache on 26 September 2026, and every one has real times — none are guessed.
- Three downloads. TXT is just the words. SRT is numbered subtitle lines with times, for video editors. VTT is the same idea for web video players.
- An AI summary. A short summary with the key points and topics comes with every transcript.
- The original language. You get the words in the language spoken in the video — Spanish, French, Japanese, Arabic and more. Nothing is translated.
How much of a TikTok does the free minute cover?
The free plan shows the first minute of each transcript. TikToks are short, so that is often the whole video. Here is what we found in the 1,658 TikTok transcripts we made between 15 July and 26 September 2026, measured by when the last word is spoken:

The typical TikTok in that set had its last word at about 64 seconds and 186 words in total. For a longer video, the free result tells you how much of the transcript is hidden, and Pro returns the rest.
Can you get a transcript from TikTok itself?
Not as text you can keep. TikTok can show captions on a video: creators turn on auto captions when they post and can fix the words, and viewers can switch captions on or off while they watch. That puts the words on the screen as the video plays.
But we found no option in TikTok's help pages to copy those captions or download them as a file. And if the creator never turned captions on, there is nothing to show. A transcript tool works from the audio instead, so you get the words either way — as text you can search, quote, and paste into a doc, a blog post or a subtitle editor.

How to copy a TikTok link
- In the TikTok app: open the video, tap the Share arrow on the right, then tap Copy link.
- On a computer: open the video on tiktok.com and copy the address from the top of your browser.
- From a chat: if someone sent you the TikTok, press and hold the link and choose Copy — you can paste it as it is.

Short links are common: 531 of the TikTok transcripts in our cache came from one. You do not need to open them first.
These do not work: private, friends-only or removed videos, photo posts, and links to a profile, a sound or a hashtag. Check that the video opens for someone who is not logged in to TikTok.
